Baseball is a traditional American game. Online version of this game is available at www.CoolGamesLive.com->Games->Sports Games or click here .

Objective

The objective is to score more runs than your opponent in 9 innings or less.

Field Layout

The baseball field is a diamond shaped field in which the game is played. In the bottom of the field is home plate. The 3 bases form a diamond with home plate and are 90 feet away from each other. The pitcher’s mound is in the middle of the inner diamond. The outfields are behind the 3 bases.

Game Description

A baseball game is broken down into 9 innings. The visiting team always bats on the top of an inning, and the home team always bats on the bottom of the inning. The main objective for the team at bat is to hit the ball in an area in which they get a base hit and/or hit a home-run, allowing them to proceed to home plate. The defensive objective is to prevent base hits and home-runs where possible.

Rules

1. Batters attempt to hit balls thrown to them by pitchers.

1.2 If they swing at a ball and miss, or do not attempt to hit a hittable ball, it is a strike. After three strikes, they are out. A foul ball can also count as a strike for strikes one or two.

1.3 If the ball is not in a hittable range, and the batter does not swing, it is called a ball. After four balls, the batter is allowed to proceed to first base.

2. Once on base, the player’s objective is to run counter-clockwise to the other bases and make it back to home plate. They must do this without getting tagged by a ball or getting a forced out.

3. Batters can hit a homerun, which is a ball hit over the fence. The length of the fence can vary from ball park to ball park. A homerun counts a run for the batter, and any player on base.

4. Defensive players must get a player on the offensive team out. Pitchers attempt to get 3 strikes on a batter. Other defensive players must either tag the player with a ball, or cause a forced out.

Strategy

Stealing bases is a popular strategy in baseball. A player can proceed from one base to another anytime the ball is live , which is nearly always. Runners usually lead off of the base, by walking a few feet away from the base. This gives them a head start for stealing a base, or proceeding to the next base. However a pitcher can throw the ball to the baseman of the base they are leading off of, and they can tag him out.
