They are counted on to both score pounds, and to get rebounds. The Power Forward often has his back to the basket on offense, and is under the basket for defense. They also are used to guard against the other teams Power Forward. The Center is usually the tallest player for a team, and uses it to their advantage to both protect their team's basket and to rebound. Rules According to the rules, physical conduct which causes disruptions is not allowed, and there are also limitations on how to handle the ball. Strategy, Skills, and Tactics Balls shot from a distance of greater than twenty three feet and nine inches(in the NBA) count as three points, while closer baskets are worth two points. Whoever has the most points by the games end is declared the winner. Players advance the ball towards the basket by either dribbling, or by passing the ball to their teammates.
