How to Play Chinese Checkers

Chinese Checker It is a strategy game between two players to six players. Play this game online under Games -> Board Games -> Chinese Checkers or click here . Converse to its name, this game did not origin in China.

Objective

The objective is to move all the pieces to the opponents triangle, from the home triangel

Board Layout

The Board is a Six pointed star. The star is dotted with holes, where the pieces are pinned. Each Player has 10 pieces. Initially the pieces are placed in the corner of the star. Usually the corner triangle and the pieces are colored in the same color.

Game description

The players may choose who goes first. Incase of two players the opponents play from the exact opposite sides. Irrespective of the number of players the game is played they players play clockwise. The player may choose to move in one directtion or in ZigZag way. He may make a simple move or a jump

Rules

1. The player may make a move diagonally in the front, back or sideways.

2. If the player has made a simple move, he cannot make a jump.

3. The player may jump over his piece or the opponents piece if the place behind piece is empty.

4. The player can move on step or as along as he can jump

Strategy, Skills and Tactics

The strategy in this game is to make as many jumps as possible. Also, donot leave a single piece behind. Make a strategy to develop ladders and the the last in the ladder use the ladder to go up. When you find the opponents piece try to use it as a ladder. Though you may move sideways, move sideways only if it makes sense.
