Golf is an interesting Game. You can play Golf online in www.coolgameslive.com->Games->Sports or click here .

Objective

To get the ball in a hole.

Course Layout

Unlike many other sports, the playing field in Golf varies between each course. Most golf courses feature a series of holes, teeing areas, hazards, fairways, and other common golf elements. The number of holes on a course can be anywhere from 9 to 36.

Game Description

Golf is a sport in which players attempt to hit a small ball into a hole in the fewest number of strokes possible. Players use different golf clubs to achieve different distances with the golf ball.

Rules

A standard game of golf is played in 18 holes, and a normal Par, or expected number of strokes, is 72. Many golf courses feature several different types of hazards. These include water hazards, man-made hazards, and dense vegetation hazards. Water hazards are lakes or ponds, and are usually unplayable if hit into one. If the a ball must be moved, strict rules say where the ball should go, and usually a one-stroke penalty is induced. Man-made hazards include sand traps. Sand traps are usually a pit filled with sand with a lip. Wedges are most often used to get a ball out of a sand trap. The last hazard is dense vegetation hazards. These include wooded areas in which it is hard for balls to get back onto the fairway. The ball can be moved back with a one-stroke penalty.

Strategy

Golf clubs are used to hit the balls, and vary depending on the situation. Woods are the clubs which are used for long distance shots. They travel a farther distance than irons, but have less lift. Irons are used for shorter distances and have higher lift. Wedges are used to get out of sandpits and are for other high lift shots. Putters are used on the green in attempt to get the ball into the hole. The ball gets no lift at all. Several recreation parks offer driving ranges. Golfers can buy a bucket of balls and continuously hit balls into a large field. There are often several markers in the field which show how far the ball has gone.
